Visual Design

Problem

A local Interior Designer didn’t have a company website and needed an online presence to share with potential contract collaborators and clients. The portfolio needed to be highly visual and engaging to sell services quickly to website visitors.

Challenges

🔑 The designer didn’t have branding and needed to start the branding discovery and content creation process from scratch.

Process

Interview

I had a brainstorming session with the designer. They explained their work, process, past experience,s and what they would like their future brand to be.

Visual Design and Branding

We explored various designs and landed on an Art Deco-inspired look and feel. We wanted minimalism in the designs with subtle colors to compliment strong brand imagery and interior design photography that would be incorporated throughout their website.

Web Design & Layout

For content copy, I worked with the designer to create a biography to lead into services and projects. Together, we summarized design services, like kitchen, bath, and interior design to give the audience a clearer view of services. We then followed up with projects as proof points. The project imagery to select from was stunning and made that part of my work easy!

We incorporated the white and gray primary colors throughout the website, adding in a slightly off-white for accents. I also pulled in some of the ornate icons and patterns to separate content blocks while accentuating the photography and really letting the designer’s work shine.

Solution

Overall, the solution for this project was a minimal yet sophisticated brand and design system, and a highly visual digital portfolio to convert customers.
